Capesize average daily earnings rose dlr 1,118 to dlr 37,785/day. Panamax index (BPI) added 15 points (0.7%) to 2,103, ending a seven-day decline; weekly -5.6%. Panamax average daily earnings rose dlr 138 to dlr 18,928/day. Supramax/Ultramax index (BSI) +3 points to 1,640. Handysize index (BHSI) +3 points to 874.

Pakistan's military said on the 21st that security forces and police killed 49 terrorists in recent joint operations. Twelve were killed in operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the north and 37 were killed in 10 operations in southwestern Balochistan. Security forces also seized large quantities of weapons, ammunition, explosives and improvised remote-detonation devices. The military said clearance operations will continue to eliminate the terrorist threat.

Citadel Securities founder Ken Griffin told clients in a letter that the firm executed more than 100 block trades totaling over $4 billion to remove in excess of 80% of the overall risk from the portfolio it bought from Leopold’s Situational Awareness fund.
