Sweden holds its quadrennial parliamentary election on Sept 13. Polling stations are open 08:00–20:00 local time; the Election Authority expects preliminary counts from about 21:00 and a first provisional seat allocation may be available early on Sept 14. The 349-seat Riksdag contest pits incumbent Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson’s right-wing bloc against former Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson’s center-left bloc. Latest polls show Andersson’s bloc still overall ahead but the margin narrowed on the eve of the vote.
