At 21:43 on Oct 8 Wanning meteorological station upgraded its rainstorm warning from orange to red. Influenced by an easterly jet, Dong'ao town recorded 151.5 mm over the past 12 hours. Over the next 12 hours Wanning’s towns/districts and coastal stretches Shimei–Riyue Bay, Dahuajiao–Laoyehai, Zhengmenhai–Xiaohai are forecast to receive 150–200 mm of rain.
