Oct 10, Chongqing — CATL and SERES signed a long-term strategic cooperation agreement. SERES’ Wenjie brand currently fits CATL batteries across its model range and has cumulatively delivered over 1.2 mln vehicles; under the deal Wenjie will continue to deploy CATL cells across its full lineup. The partners will expand ‘factory-within-a-factory’ capacity: SERES’ super factory phase II is planned at 10–12 GWh/year, bringing combined phase I and II capacity to more than 20 GWh/year once completed. They will also cooperate on ultra-fast charging and battery services to build a full-life-cycle service ecosystem and jointly pursue overseas expansion in Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia.
